“Sometimes it feels as if we have, as a world community, been holding our collective breath for the better part of a year! Little by little, we are beginning to unfold.” – Ember Ensemble
Boscobel House and Gardens is proud to present The Ember Ensemble, a vocal ensemble based in New York City, outdoors on the Great Lawn. Communication through music in ways that move those who hear them is core to their mission. “We program a broad stylistic palette,” says artistic director and founder Dr. Deborah Simpkins King, “largely music of working composers – including some well known even to non-aficionados of the choral art: Judy Collins, Ben Folds, Fred Rogers.
In “Unfolding,” Ember performs some of their best-received selections. From “Unclouded Day” and Fred Rogers’ “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” to “I Dream a World” (after Langston Hughes) and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, Boscobel and the Ember Ensemble can’t wait to share with you the joy of live performance.
