Museum Finance Expert Joins Boscobel Staff

November 30th, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Garrison, NY – November 2021) – Boscobel proudly announces the hiring of Lea Emery as the museum’s Director of Finance and Human Resources.

“Lea’s expertise and vision beautifully align with Boscobel’s trajectory of growth and inclusivity. We’re thrilled to bring her in, especially at a time when the new Master Site Plan and the efforts of our skillful staff are expanding Boscobel’s programmatic offerings and making the museum more accessible for everyone,” says Executive Director and Curator Jennifer Carlquist.

Emery comes to Boscobel most recently from the Katonah Museum, where she served as the Director of Development and a Finance Manager, offering broad financial management and heading up fundraising initiatives. Among other senior finance and operations positions, Emery has worked at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati, where she played a key role in doubling the size of the museum and vastly increasing its audience reach. Previously, at Christie’s, Emery’s financial negotiations led to the win of coveted property.

“This position at Boscobel includes all of my work passions all in one place,” says Emery. “I’m honored to join the staff at the start of such a pivotal period of growth.”

Emery is married with two kids in college. She lives in Brookfield, Connecticut in an old farmhouse that she and her husband are in the process of restoring.

Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, 60 miles north of New York City, Boscobel is one of America’s most beautiful places, with iconic Hudson River views, 68 acres of stunning grounds, a woodland trail, and pollinator-friendly gardens. Open Fridays – Mondays from April through December and on Saturdays throughout the winter, Boscobel offers gardens and grounds admission, tours of the grounds and house, and lively open-air programs that explore history, design, and nature. Children are always welcome.
