May 4th, 2018

New Landscape and Landmarks Tours Start Up, Cold Spring Farmers’ Market Returns

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Garrison, NY – May 2018) Every Saturday in 2018, admission to Boscobel’s grounds is pay-what-you-wish. At any donation level that is comfortable, visitors are welcome to explore 68 acres of Boscobel’s property, including lush gardens and a woodland trail. The Great Lawn offers unparalleled views of the Hudson River.

Pay-what you-wish admission also includes Boscobel’s new expertly guided, outdoor Landscape and Landmarks Tours. The Cold Spring Farmers’ Market returns to Boscobel this Saturday, May 5 with free admission.

“Boscobel is everyone’s house on the Hudson,” says Acting Executive Director Jennifer Carlquist, “Pay-what-you-wish admission helps us preserve this extraordinary place and at the same time, share it with the entire community.”

LANDSCAPE AND LANDMARKS TOURS
This Saturday, May 5, marks our first-ever, outdoor Landscape and Landmarks tour, an expertly guided, conversational tour with stories about Boscobel’s extraordinary site overlooking the Hudson River, Constitution Marsh, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Enjoy the beauty of Boscobel while learning about the site’s historic architecture, natural history, earliest inhabitants, and the key importance that it held for General George Washington and Benedict Arnold, Hudson River School artists, and 20th-century environmentalists. Children are always welcome.

Funded in Part by the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area.

11:30am, 45-minute tour. Every Saturday through October. Pay-what-you-wish admission.

COLD SPRING FARMERS’ MARKET

Supporting local, regional, and sustainable farms by providing an outlet for direct sales of agricultural products, the Cold Spring Farmers’ Market’s vendors are either farmers, farm employees, or food artisans selling fresh products with ingredients sourced from regional farms.
