Twilight Tours Brighten the Holiday Season

October 31st, 2019

Candlelit Tours with Live Music, Lighted Grounds, and Reception

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Garrison, NY – October 2019) – Following its sold-out success in 2018, Boscobel House and Gardens proudly brings back Twilight Tours this holiday season.

With the candlelit mansion decorated for 19th-century holidays and resonating with live, period string music performed by the Greater Newburgh Symphony Quintet, Twilight Tours offer an especially beautiful experience of Boscobel House and Gardens.

Expert guides stationed throughout the Historic House Museum share stories that bring Yuletide traditions to life. Children are welcome, and will enjoy searching for gingerbread kids hidden amongst the decorations. The exterior of the mansion and the grounds will be lit with an elegant display.

Each tour concludes with a reception in the decorated gallery. Boscobel adds to this singular experience with a festive gift shop and classical guitarist Dan Stevens performing live holiday music in the Visitor Center.

“Twilight Tours are a magical experience for guests of any age,” says Director of Visitor Engagement Ed Glisson, “and they also seamlessly link our lives today with our historic past. We look forward to celebrating the season by sharing Boscobel at its holiday best.”

Twilight Tours depart from 3:30pm to 7:15pm over two weekends: (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) November 29, 30, and December 1, and December 6-8. Tours typically sell out early. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Boscobel is located at 1601 Route 9D, Garrison, NY 10524. Tickets are available at www.boscobel.org (845-265-3638). Ticket prices are $26 for adults and $16 for children ages 5-18. Free admission for those under age 5.

Built in 1808 and founded as a museum in 1961, Boscobel House and Gardens is one of America’s most beautiful historic sites. Open Wednesday through Monday from mid-April to December, Boscobel preserves and shares its Neoclassical mansion and 68 acres of gardens and grounds with dramatic views of the Hudson River, lush gardens, and a woodland trail. Boscobel presents lively community events, innovative exhibitions, and engaging programs and activities for families. Children are always welcome.
