June 3rd, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Garrison, NY – June 2021) – Boscobel House and Gardens is very pleased to announce that the Honorable George Pataki, former Governor of New York, and architect John Sadlon have joined its Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled to have these brilliant new additions to our Board,” says Boscobel Executive Director and Curator Jennifer Carlquist. “Governor George Pataki and John Sadlon’s insight and expertise are invaluable, particularly as Boscobel creates a new Master Site Plan, enhancing and expanding access to its iconic landscape and reaching new standards in environmental and fiscal sustainability.”

Throughout Pataki’s long political career as governor, senator, state assemblyman, Peekskill mayor, and delegate to the United Nations, he has demonstrated a fierce commitment to environmental stewardship as well as sound business and governmental practice. Pataki continues that advocacy working on energy, infrastructure, and environmental law issues in private practice at Norton Rose Fulbright. Pataki has served on numerous charity boards including the New-York Historical Society. He and his wife Libby reside in Garrison, New York. They have four children.

John Sadlon is a licensed architect with broad expertise in historic preservation, adaptive reuse, new construction, and interior renovations. His focus is on strategic vision and long-term planning for the built environment, as well as the integration of human-centric design solutions. His completed works to date include projects in 48 regions across 12 countries worldwide. Sadlon is equally well-known for balancing creative problem solving, functional practicality, and contextual design as he is for his enduring relationships with clients. He and his husband Dr. Sven Wenske have recently relocated to Garrison, New York.

Pataki and Sadlon’s terms began in Spring of 2021, as Boscobel celebrates its 60th anniversary of becoming a museum.  Past Boscobel trustees include longtime Chair Barnabas McHenry, the late Metropolitan Museum of Art Director Thomas Hoving, and founding patron Lila Acheson Wallace.
