Join Boscobel House and Gardens in welcoming five student scholars to share their projects that strengthen and improve communities in New York’s Hudson Valley region. 

A free reception open to the public will take place on Tuesday, August 13th from 6-7:30pm. Registration is kindly requested. 

Open Space Institute’s Barnabas McHenry Fellowships

  • Shanique Alladen for Germantown’s Sweet Freedom Farm is creating local community garden spaces, focusing on cultivating crops with medicinal, edible, and sensory value, and that are culturally significant to Black and Indigenous communities.
  • Ember Beeler for The Fullerton in Newburgh: Minecrafting Newburgh’s Lost Buildings.
  • Victoria Bucci for Wallkill Valley Land Trust: Keeping the Sanctuary Safe: Managing Trails at the Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Christopher Martinovic for Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society: Geo-Referencing for Old Albany Post Road Preservation.
  • Lev Winickoff for Department of Art at Vassar College:Subverting Colonial Narratives: A Video Celebrating the Munsee Tribe’s Ongoing Presence, and Their Importance to the Hudson River Valley.

This event will take place in the Visitor Center, an ADA-accessible facility.  Special thanks to Open Space Institute, and to Boscobel members and donors, who make every Boscobel experience possible.
