Celebrate Hudson Valley harvests with cider pressing, apple preserving, and sweet and hard cider sampling. Renowned entertainer Mark Rust will enthrall families and guests with his spectacular array of music and tales. Boscobel Museum Educator Lisa DiMarzo will give kid-friendly tours of the apple orchard. Classical guitarist Daniel Stevens will serenade guests with period music. Penny Brickman of the Philipstown Garden Club will discuss and demo spinning flax and wool in the Herb Garden. 19th-century games and activities will be available for play throughout the event. Sweet and hard cider, apple cider doughnuts, apple cider butter, and apple cider syrup will be available for purchase.

At the time of Boscobel’s construction in the early 19th century, the apple was America’s most important fruit, with thousands of varieties. Boscobel’s Apple Orchard features some of those heirloom varieties along some newer ones, all of which are prized today.

Throughout the event, the Historic House Museum and gallery, featuring early 19th-century design and our Cross-pollination exhibition of plant-inspired contemporary art, will be open for guests to explore at their own pace and direction, with expert guides stationed to offer insights.
