Evolution/Revolution features archival materials and lenticular photographs on display in the gallery. The walls are lined with images that change from “before” to “after,” from when the 1804-08 house was being demolished in the 1950s to 2021, in fully restored glory. Archival materials include the original guestbook from opening day, archival photos, and some brochures from decades past. The exhibition illustrates the house’s transformation from a deteriorated relic to a beacon of Hudson Valley beauty. Having become famous as “the house that was saved” since it was restored and opened as a museum in 1961, this year Boscobel is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary as a museum!
Guests can visit the gallery with Gardens and Grounds Admission tickets.
